Kazakh National Medical University is a university in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It is the no.1 medical institute in all of Kazakhstan. Many of Kazakhstan’s leading physicians are affiliated with the university. It is dedicated to S.D. Asfendiyarov who was the first rector when the university was established in 1931. In 2001, the government classified it as a “national” university. There are more than 11000 students, PhD students study at KazNMU, and there are more than 1500 faculty members working at KazNMU, including more than 200 doctors of science, 130 professors, more than 500 candidates of science and 15-laureates of State prizes.

Semey State Medical University

In 2018, Semey medical university celebrates its 65th anniversary. This is one of the largest medical university in Kazakhstan with its own hospital and branches in Pavlodar and Ust Kamenogorsk. Semey medical university was established in 1953 (opening of general medicine faculty). 320 students were enrolled in 1953. Over the years of its existence, graduates of the university successfully work over the whole Kazakhstan, as well as near and far abroad.

South Kazakh (also spelled Chimkent, Cimkent) is a city and administrative center of South Kazakhstan oblast (region) of Kazakhstan, located in the valley of Sayram River at the foothills of Ugam Range at an altitude of 1,680 feet (512 m).

The settlement in the area of current South Kazakh existed at the edge of 11th-12th centuries. There is a hypothesis about earlier formation of south kazakh. The idea is based on archeological excavations in which some burial places were found and specialists refer them to 5th-6th centuries.

North-Kazakhstan State University

The North Kazakhstan University is formed according to Order No 584 issued by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan on June 2, 1994 on the basis of Petropavlovsk Pedagogical university named after K.D. Ushinskiy keeping traced history from 1937.
